A Global Objective brings all countries together (think Olympics or World Cup).
A Continental Objective brings all countries in that continent together (think Euro Cup, Copa America, AFCON).
A Country Objective brings all the citizens in that country together (think event that brings people in your country together)...
Where there is no vision, the people perish... - Proverbs 29:18
Second to Politics, lack of Global Objectives is one of the main killer diseases right now! It’s hurting everyone right now. Our world can’t and will never operate at the required efficiency to be self-sustaining if only a few countries (United States, China, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada etc.) are pulling the weight. Their economies can no longer sustain it! Skyrocketing national debt is evidence of this and we see this trickle down into a plethora issues like inability to provide adequate healthcare to citizens and many other problems.
The truth is, we need every country to play a role and to operate as close to 100% efficiency in every industry sector. The fact of the difference in natural resources, geographical location, climate and population size is an indicator that we should be doing this together not against each other!
Food as an example: why do we still have grocery stores selling inorganic food which isn’t healthy? Well, you might say, not everyone can afford organic food! That’s right. The next follow-up question we should be asking is why shouldn’t we make it affordable to everyone? In comes supply and demand. For countries with 4 seasonal climates, their supply can’t be sustained throughout the year. But just because Food A is ‘out of season’ in Canada because of their winter climate doesn’t mean other countries with warmer climates throughout the year if supported with either technology and other resources can’t meet this demand.
But guess what? We don’t think very highly of the people in that country, we don’t value their lives that much and plus our foreign policy is already killing their citizens. In turn, we in Canada are going to succumb more than half of our population to unhealthy food year in year out and when those people get sick, they are going to end up flooding the public hospitals and now the public hospitals can’t handle this volume of patients. The healthcare system folds under this pressure. Continues to trickle down; doctors and nurses are now needed to work overtime shifts which increases the likely hood of a misdiagnosis or missed diagnosis. If you are unlucky - either you or someone close to you ends up being on the receiving end of this mishap which could be a fatal outcome. So public hospital X needs more funding to acquire more equipment and hire more labour but extra funding needed can’t be green-lighted until the next provincial or federal budget planning…
Either an emergency decision has to be made to take resources allocated to another sector which cripples that sector as well or the public hospital has to wait and the citizens suffer - they have to wait several months to do an MRI scan or surgery…
Do you see this mess? Do you see how failing to solve an issue as inorganic food can trickle down with more severe effects in other sectors? We started at inorganic food and we’re now talking about waiting 7 months to get surgery. You (person waiting for knee surgery) maybe happens to afford organic food but have to wait in line because of the volume of patients ahead of you.
One of the reasons we want to focus on the root of problems at JAEF is because most of the problem-solving happening either at a global or country-level is being targeted at fruit problems - but fruit problems are a result of root problems.
With this in mind, it changes how we view everyone’s life on this planet. Everyone becomes valuable and the complexity of issues like foreign policy is dissolved. A Global objective also means that we can’t afford to leave any country and person behind. No country at the moment is self-sustaining! Every country is handicapped by something. Either it's seasonal climate, population size, lack of technological advancement, illiteracy etc.
The guiding principle here is that in order for everyone to have a decent, stable, good quality of life, we need everyone to contribute. We need every country to play its role as perfectly as it can. And we need every sector in every country to operate as close to 100% efficiency. This means we need every country’s population to be healthy, educated, living in peace, with access to these Universal Basic Needs (housing, healthy food, clean water, clothing, electricity, healthcare, internet). More on this subject of Universal Basic Needs and how every country that fails to make this feasible to all of its citizens should face severe repercussions for violating these human rights - to come!
For self-sustaining planet earth and for a decent, stable, good quality of life for its inhabitants, we need Global Objectives. A Global Objective in every sector will require countries to unite with the expectation that every country has a role to play. In order for any country to meet its deliverables, we need its population well equipped to perform and operate as close to 100% efficiency in all sectors.
For everyone to equitably contribute, the preceding expectation must be; everyone is well equipped to perform and contribute. Basic needs such as housing, healthy food, clean water, clothing, electricity, healthcare, internet that aren't accessible worldwide become a Universal Basic Need and a Human Right violation if not provided!
The same way we expect all pilots around the world to operate at a regulated standard should be applicable to every country's government around the world when it comes to these Universal Basic Needs. It's not negotiable!
We need everyone (country) to pull 'the weight' else we all drown.
A good example of this: so many countries have their smartest brains run away to silicon valley. The void of expertise left due to not holding that country accountable to a global regulated standard of living for all humans has severe trickle-down effects on both countries - more on this to come!
Alone we go faster. Together we go further...
